Published pay information

19.49 percentage points

Measure: UCI scheduled percentage-point total, before steps

19.49 percentage points; about 20.95% compounded, plus eligible July steps each year.

Published wage events

Percentages cover the stated contract terms. Across-the-board totals, individual ranges, averages, and compounded growth describe different measures. Eligible steps and premiums may add to base increases.

Terms and benefits in the current evidence

Wages & bonus

5.33%, 5.33%, 4.83%, and 4.0%, plus eligible July steps. UCIH ratification payments: $4,510 for eligible career RNs and $1,500 for eligible per-diem RNs; hire-by-November 1, 2025 and unit-status conditions apply.

Staffing & floating

Patient-need staffing and competency/orientation protections. Staffing/acuity disputes use PPC and special-review procedures rather than ordinary grievance/arbitration. Floating limits have float-pool and multi-location-role exceptions.

Breaks

Staffing must be maintained during meal/rest periods. Article 14.D caps missed-break penalty pay at two hours per workday; Article 14.E limits each meal/rest category per shift and requires reporting. Waiver/deferral conditions apply.

Premiums

On-call pay is $20/hour from January 1, 2026. Qualifying full-time career certification pay is $100/month, prorated for part-time. Eligible per-diem nurses have a separate one-time $600 provision after 1,000 prior-contract-year hours.

Discipline

Non-probationary nurses have just-cause, notice, response, grievance, and arbitration protections. Per-diem protections have scheduling-commitment and probation exceptions.

Prior contract

UCI clinical RNs received 8%, 7%, and 7% guaranteed ATB/equity increases—about 23.6% compounded—plus eligible July steps under the 2022–25 agreement.

Source status

UCnet publishes this as the complete ratified agreement. Its Appendix A hourly wage tables are still pending; Article 40 supplies the raise schedule.

Eligibility and enforcement limits

Non-probationary discipline protections and per-diem scheduling/probation exceptions apply. Staffing/acuity disputes use PPC and special-review procedures; ordinary grievance/arbitration is not a universal staffing route. Floating, break-pay, bonus, and premium provisions have stated conditions.
