# Providence Southern California union-contract history > Evidence-review update (October 30, 2026): the live dashboard and hospital summaries use the reviewed source records. Full agreement texts, signed clauses, official summaries, and secondary reporting are distinguished. Historical working descriptions below do not independently prove current retention; see the source-specific qualifications in the live summaries. Research current through 2026-10-30. This memo inventories every contract or contract result I could verify publicly for the Providence Southern California hospitals already in the dashboard. A missing signed CBA is not treated as evidence that no contract existed: CNA/NNU and SEIU 121RN publish many ratification summaries but generally do not expose signed agreements. SEIU 121RN's contract form is member-gated. ## Downloaded signed-contract archive Directory: `../contracts/history/providence_socal/` The only complete, continuous public CBA series found is the NUHW service/technical/clerical unit at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana. Workers voted for NUHW in 2010; all four CBAs since the first agreement are now downloaded: | Bargaining unit | Contract | Local file | Public evidence | |---|---|---|---| | Tarzana NUHW service/technical/clerical | 2012–2014 first CBA | `Providence_Tarzana_NUHW_CBA_2012-2014.pdf`; OCR copy `..._OCR.pdf` | https://nuhw.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Providence-Tarzana-Medical-Center-contract.pdf | | Tarzana NUHW service/technical/clerical | 2015–2017 second CBA | `Providence_Tarzana_NUHW_CBA_2015-2017.pdf` | https://nuhw.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Providence-Tarzana-1-15-2016-thru-12-31-17.pdf | | Tarzana NUHW service/technical/clerical | 2018–2022 third CBA | `Providence_Tarzana_NUHW_CBA_2018-2022.pdf` | https://nuhw.org/wp-content/uploads/PTMC-CBA-2018-2022-FINAL.pdf | | Tarzana NUHW service/technical/clerical | 2022–2026 fourth CBA | `Providence_Tarzana_NUHW_CBA_2022-2026.pdf` | https://home.nuhw.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Contract_Providence_Ceedars_Sinai_Tarzana_Medical_Center_10222022_10122026.pdf | Also archived: the 2011 first-contract settlement summary and 2023 ratification summary. PDF validation succeeded for all files. ### OCR warning The original 2012–14 CBA is a 67-page image-only scan; ordinary extraction returns no text. `Providence_Tarzana_NUHW_CBA_2012-2014_OCR.pdf` is a searchable derivative produced with OCRmyPDF. Citations below use PDF page numbers. Page 66 contained too few characters for OCR, but it is a wage-grid page; the original scan remains archived for visual review. A separate focused-agent review was requested per the project instruction. ## Compact timeline data for site integration ### Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana — NUHW service/technical/clerical - **Union start:** voted to join NUHW in 2010. The precise organizing/first-contract year was not established from an official public source; the unit already had a mature CBA in 2011. - **2011–13 contract:** the public NUHW account says SEIU agreed to a three-year wage freeze for nurses already at scale, delayed increases for others, and weaker subcontracting/job-security protections. This is a cross-union characterization, not the signed SEIU agreement: https://nuhw.org/we-bargained-a-three-year-contract-at-providence-tarzana/ - **2013–15 contract:** maintained the wage scale and existing clinical-ladder levels; increased evening/night differentials; removed restrictive vacation-request windows. Source: https://seiu121rn.org/2018/12/30/four-new-contracts-four-strikes-averted/ - **2025–26 bargaining:** no settled successor was located by 2026-10-30 after strikes. March 2026 bargaining material separates the employer's 3% step from its 3% ATB proposal and documents demands for paid protective leave/safe reassignment after harassment reports. These were proposals, not wins: https://seiu121rn.org/pcstmc-19/ ### Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Burbank — SEIU 121RN nurses - **Union start:** RNs voted to organize Sept. 27–28, 2002. Source: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2002-oct-17-me-union17-story.html - **First/early CBAs, approximately 2003–07:** no signed agreements or full public term summaries found. A 2007 ratification is reported but the agreement is not public. - **2011–14:** 2% lump sum in 2011; 1% scale increases in 2012 and 2013 (with eligibility exceptions). Preserved certification bonuses, pension and education benefits; free HMO tied to wellness assessment or PPO premium credits; investigatory suspension maximum cut from 10 to 7 days; holiday scheduling parity; 6-on/2-off schedules grandfathered; most PTO accrual preserved. Source: https://seiu121rn.org/2011/12/20/st-joseph-contract-ratified/ - **2014–18:** 3.25% ATB in 2015, 2016, and 2017, then 2.9% in 2018 (13.27% compounded). Extended sick-leave banks grandfathered for three years and expanded to family; PTO accrual protected during low-census flexing; clinical-ladder access improved with college-course credit. Source: https://seiu121rn.org/2015/01/30/providence-st-joseph-contract-ratification-vote-set-for-feb-5-6/ - **2018–25:** ratification confirmed Dec. 28, 2018; signed CBA and economic summary remain member-gated. The contract contained enforceable attendance thresholds, three-consecutive-day call-out treatment, and tardiness rules still described during 2026 bargaining: https://seiu121rn.org/psjmc-attendance/ - **2026 successor:** a June 2026 ratification is confirmed only indirectly on the union's scholarship page; no public terms or signed CBA were located. Source: https://seiu121rn.org/2026-winners/ ### Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Burbank — SEIU-UHW service/technical - **2023 tentative agreement:** 7% / 4% / 4% wage sequence (15.7% compounded); new diagnostic-position training programs; staffing/recruitment focus.
